Caregiving is a powerful act of love. But let’s be honest, it’s also exhausting.
I’m the caregiver to my mom, who is suffering from Dementia. On the one hand, I feel honored to care for her. But on the other hand, I feel drained.
Whether you’re supporting an aging parent, a chronically ill partner, or a loved one with disabilities, the emotional, physical, and mental weight you carry each day is like nothing else. It’s heavy.
You’re constantly anticipating their needs, managing appointments, planning the day, being an emotional sounding board (and sometimes physical sounding board, too). Often you do all this without a break or a thank you. How do I know? Because it is my life.
And when the day finally ends? Well, it’s not quite a quiet time of rest. Your mind is racing, and you feel like you’re barely running on fumes. What’s left to take care of yourself? Not much. Well, here’s a newsflash: you can’t run on fumes for long.
That’s why I created this short, 10-minute evening meditation for caregivers.
It’s a short pause designed to help you exhale the weight of the day and return to your center.
This isn’t just a nice extra. It’s a vital tool for your wellbeing. A tool to help you wind down and restore a sense of calm to your mind and body.

Evenings Are Critical for Caregivers
When you think of evenings, you think of everyone winding down. But any caregivers are just switching into another mode: late medications to give, prepping for the next day, and night care. If you’re not careful, your evening will be just as busy – or busier – than your day, even though you’re running on empty.
Without intentional breaks, you risk long-term burnout, compassion fatigue, and feeling disconnected (mentally and physically).
You’ve heard this before, but are you paying attention? You deserve rest. You deserve a break. You deserve support.
Even if it’s just a few minutes of stillness. A few intentional minutes can help regulate your nervous system, help you sleep better, and help you rebuild your inner reserve.
Here’s What This Meditation Offers
This guided video meditation was created with real caregivers in mind. It’s for those of us who are overstretched, exhausted, deeply loving (maybe too much). It’s gentle, simple, and can be done while sitting, lying down, or even while winding down the house (but sitting is best).
You’ll be guided through:
*A moment of acknowledgment (because you’ve done enough T today)
*Positive reassurance (a reminder of your compassion and worth)
*Intentional breathing (to soften and release tension in the body)
This isn’t about fixing anything (you’re not broken) or adding anything more to your to-do list.
You Are Not Alone
Caregiving can feel isolating, but you are never alone in your experience.
This space was created for you — to offer resources, rituals, and reminders that your wellbeing matters, too.
I’ll be adding more meditations, journaling prompts, and practical self-care ideas just for caregivers in the weeks ahead.
